The re-creation of the ScotRail Push-Pull set provides an opportunity to return to East Anglia with a DBSO. For many years the DBSOs were an integral part of Intercity service from London Liverpool Street to Norwich and it is approaching 20 years since they operated in main line passenger service in East Anglia.
This weekend excursion provides an opportunity to visit some passenger lines not normally associated with locomotive hauled trains, but will also see some high speed running between Ipswich and Norwich on both Saturday and Sunday. Class 47 47712 will work throughout the weekend.
Hotels: No overnight accommodation is included, allowing you the freedom and flexibility to arrange your own hotels.

We will travel over the ‘Ely Avoiding Line’ and head to Kings Lynn. From there we will retrace our steps to Ely then onward via Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Ipswich.
At Ipswich the opportunity to alight for an evening and night in Ipswich is available. Passengers will be picked up on Sunday morning. After reversal at Ipswich, we will travel to both Felixstowe Town and Felixstowe Beach (no alighting) before making our way to Norwich for the night via Boss Hall Jn, Europa Jn & the East Anglian Main Line.

Sunday - 28/01/2024
Today we will leave Norwich just after 08.00 for a run up the East Anglian Main Line to Ipswich to pick those passengers who have elected to spend their night there. Shortly after 09.00 we will take the East Suffolk line via Saxmundham to Lowestoft. From Lowestoft we will travel to Norwich for a short break before heading to Great Yarmouth. It is intended to travel via both routes (Acle & Reedham).
