We are pleased to offer an unmissable bargain priced day tour offering a journey along the spectacular North Wales Coast and an afternoon break in the port of Holyhead for a 2-hour break. Travel is in First Class comfort on our modern air-conditioned inter-city train, hauled by a Class 86, 87 or 90 electric locomotive between London and Crewe, then Class 47 diesel locomotives between Crewe and Holyhead.
Travelling across the Cheshire plain to Chester, we pass the Roman Walls and enter Wales running alongside the Irish Sea passing Rhyl on a coastline famed for its beaches and views. Continuing westward we pass under the imposing fortress of Conwy Castle and along the coastal line through Bangor, thence crossing the historic Britannia Bridge over the Menai Straits we enter the Isle of Anglesey and travel to the lines end at the port of Holyhead and home to the largest seagoing ferry in the world.
The town centre offers several places to eat and shop. The Maritime Museum is worth a visit where you can learn more about the 100 or so shipwrecks that have taken place in the vicinity.
