No, not the 1957 film starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine & Keith Carradine! This version will star Class 45 (45118) and Class 50 (50050).

This is a rare opportunity to travel over the West Coast Main Line via Shap, the Cumbrian Coast and the Settle & Carlisle – all in one day.

The day will start with 45118 running from Crewe to Carlisle via the West Coast Main Line. On arrival at Carlisle, and after a short break, 50050 will take the train via the Cumbrian Coast to Carnforth and on to Preston. After a further short break, the train will head off via Blackburn, Hellifield and the Settle & Carlisle Line back to Carlisle. On arrival at Carlisle, we shall goodbye to 50050 and 45118 will retrace its steps via the West Coast Main Line back to Crewe.
