In March 2022 we ran an East Anglian tour from Crewe to Norwich & return with our Class 87. We now offer a similar opportunity in 2025, but this time utilising our friend and colleague Shaun Wright’s Class 40 (D213). Class 40s have been associated with East Anglia since they were built in 1958 with 5 being allocated to Stratford to work Liverpool Street to Norwich services. Class 40s have also had a long association with the London Midland Region and the West Coast Main Line.

This train brings together these long associations as we travel via the West Coast and Great Eastern Main Lines.

Leaving Crewe, we travel via the West Coast Main Line (Trent Valley) through Rugby and on to Wembley. From Wembley we cross London to reach Stratford and then proceed via the Great Eastern Main Line to Norwich.

On arrival at Norwich there will be a break whilst the train is turned and serviced before returning to Crewe via the outward route.
