This tour provides the opportunity to travel over the scenic Central Wales route via Knighton, Llandrindod Wells & Pantyffynnon on the outward journey and the scenic Severn Estuary on the return. The train will utilise the Intercity Push-Pull set with 2 Class 37/4s operating in Top & Tail mode.

Leaving Crewe in the morning we travel over the Welsh Marches via Shrewsbury to Craven Arms before traversing the Heart of Wales route via Llandrindod Wells. From Llandrindod Wells we will join the Swansea District Line via Hendy Jn and traverse the South Wales Main Line via Stormy Bank. Our destination is Cardiff Central where a break of around two hours will be provided.

Leaving Cardiff Central in the afternoon we will travel via the Maindee Triangle to reverse the train and then onward along the Severn Estuary to Gloucester. From there will climb the Lickey and Camp Hill Inclines, passing through Birmingham & Wolverhampton before heading home to Crewe, via Shrewsbury, arriving mid-evening.
