- Wigan North Western,
- Warrington Bank Quay,
We are delighted to announce a bargain priced day tour offering a destination of the Ocean City of Plymouth for a circa 3-hour afternoon break. Travel is in First Class comfort on our modern air-conditioned Inter-City train, hauled by a pair of heritage Class 40 locomotives.
Our journey is along the West Coast Main Line to Crewe before we take the Marches line via Hereford to Bristol. After Exeter, we journey along the famous Dawlish Sea Wall before reaching the vibrant, waterfront city of Plymouth. Our return journey sees our locomotives tackle the 1 in 37 Lickey Incline, the steepest mainline incline in Britain.
Take a walk down to Plymouth Hoe and visit the 72 feet high Smeaton’s Tower, the iconic lighthouse built in 1759. Perhaps a game of bowls may be in order, just as Sir Francis Drake did back in 1588. Or enjoy a boat trip around the harbour including views of the naval dockyard.
